insta-art

A few weeks ago, I ordered a ton of photos from Origrami. Let me tell you, I'm in love. For $20 you can purchase 35 photos from your instagram account and have them printed in polaroid fashion with free international shipping. Hubba hubba. And with polaroid film at the prices they are today, it's quite the pleasing compromise.

For a few years now, we've had this little diy art project hanging in our dining room:

Very.... brown. We wanted to increase the fun factor so we did something a little reminiscent of the college days and I'm in love. I took the art out and cleaned up the black fabric since it had some burlap shedding. I then separated all of my photos into stacks of bright, dark, and medium pictures. I then placed the photos out to get an idea of how many I could fit. I placed the first four corners to use as a guide for the rest of the photos. I also picked up some washi tape at target to use here and there.

I just filled them in in between commercial breaks and it was really easy!

I love it and am currently looking at every free wall space with new eyes. I think this would look fantastic in a more collage effect taped to a wall [and I may even do this in our closet. It would be so much fun! Any other insta-art people out there??

    2. It's from Costco! It was really affordable too but that was a few years ago. I have another I got on target clearance so they're out there!

  2. Little Caroline! I love it!!! Like you I've been dabbling in color. Design/DIY growing pains! Lol everything starts out neutral with varying degrees of browns with an occasional sage or pale yellow thrown in! Lol. Gotta get my butt motivated. School starts in a month! And I've yet to get all things done I'm trying to do this summer (pesky kids need to eat and be entertained) you're motivating me! Hopefully have some before and afters to show you. Keep it up!!! Did I tell you about Knockoffdecor.com? Check it out!

  4. Wow! What a great addition to that room. If I wasn't so cheap I'd order my own prints and make something pretty like this. I nominated your wonderful little blog for the Liebster award, too.
