So I have a thing for chairs. Honestly. I've replaced our entire dining set once [each time I had two chair species co-mingling] and am constantly looking at new suitors. Right now I'm jonesing for a slipper chair for our master bedroom. Or anything really as long as it's cheap. I'm always looking for new to me styles and I'm finding that the mid century modern lines really speak to me.
It started when I found these cesca chairs at a thrift store. It took some serious googling to figure out what they were called but I love them so.
We replaced plain 'x' backed chairs and captain chairs for the cesca chairs and eames shell chairs on the end from Overstock.
There's this crazy chair in our living room that I adore. The lines are just plain mean in all good ways and the cats love the furry bottom. Not the most functional piece or realistic by any means but we adore it.
And this fella. We scored four of these scooped back pieces off of Craigslist that have a bamboo look. I couldn't resist spray painting them. Can't wait for spring to arrive so I can showcase them!
If you're a chair whore like myself you can check out One King's Lane guide. It's not all inclusive by any means and I'd love to see it expanded or in quiz form [like this one] but it's a start if you're clueless to chair styles. And I figure it's a step above me getting all educational on you and whipping out my mad powerpoint skills. Do you have something you can't get enough of like how I am with chairs? What's your weakness?
***Although I was contacted by One King's Lane to feature their chair guide, all thoughts and bad jokes are purely mine.***
